Cooling device for microelectronic equipment elements

A. A. Ashcheulov, V. G. Okhrem, Ye. A. Okhrem

The article provides the discription of physical basis for galvanothermomagnetic cooler design and oeration at the temperatures ranging from boiling temperature of liquid nitrogen and below. Operating effect of the device is represented be Tompson effect developed in bismuth as a result of change in the value and sign of longitudinal thermoelectric motive force at reverse induction of transverse magnetic field. The cooler is capable of reducing operating temperature 30 K and more below the boiling temperature of liquid nitrogen and can therefore be applied for cooling of microelectronic equipment elements.
